Strap dress

Whoaa...remember I was supposed to make the dress for the little one?

It's finally done. The material used are of the remnants of 3 projects.

Hah! Nice......

And the material used are identical to the one for I made for my DD. So can't wait to see them wear it together....:-)

Front. The size is 0-3 months. Instead of sleeves it turned out to be a strappy one.

Clear pink buttons and shortened the strap length using an elastic with zigzag stitches.

Top & Skirt Jeans Apron

So finally I finished the refashion jeans I planned to make which I purchased recently. I really like how it came out. I hope the owner likes it too. I got this idea from a blogger friend Ms SewLove :) The pictures doesn't do justice here but that's how it is with me and my camera phone. We do have our good times, just not this time :)

The flared jeans. It already has a nice studded pearls just below the pocket line.

Opened up the seam to get the front and back and cut off the flare bit
(which is for other projects)
So you know now what I am going to do with the back part? Another apron....yes!
Coming up soon I hope.....

The personalised embroidered print 'Senior Masterchef Mummy'.

Didn't have any other ideas at the moment, so added the string belt.

It looks much better in real life, trust me.

Spaghetthi strap : Refashion 1

Bought this spaghetti strap recently and got the idea from crafterhours.

My two 3 year old nephews had a joint birthday party last Sunday. I wanted us (me & Nia) to wear the matchy matchy new maternity blouse and Nia's skirt together. I didn't really have a suitable top for Nia to wear with the skirt. So purrr goes my sewing machine.

Cut to the desired size. You can see the chalk mark on the T shirt fabric. This top could be a reject coz the strap distance and the body looks a bit odd but good for me, it fits a 2 to 3 year old well. Sew and zigzag the sides. I zigzagged the hem and left it like that to give it a rugged look.

(R) The top done and (L) the cut lower body part, cut one side open and you will have a long material for the ruffles.

Cut a few 1" long strip. Fold, pin and sew on the top one first and then start with the second row. The third row I used a 1/2" strip and curvy just to add a bit of fun.

Finally after a sore finger and a few bent needles, the top is done.

I started from the back right up to the front, only on one side.

A happy princess.

Refashion projects

After my first refashion project I was away to JB for work. All I could think during the 3 1/2 hours drive was REFASHION. Coincidentally at Giant Plentong where I parked my car to meet up and join my colleague for meeting, was a bundle shop selling goodies at very very cheap bargain.

I bought the flared jeans at RM3 and with this I am planning to make 3 or 4 projects.

And I bought all 3 of the spaghetti strap for RM5.

Stay tuned!

Outgrown denim skirt : Refashion

I read a lot about refashion on many talented sewer blogs. I've always wanted to try it. I think is it the easiest way to get instant satisfaction, without much work. One of the many things that I thought of working on was Nia's outgrown denim skirt which I ADORE.....!! I bought it during sale at OU at Parkson. It was at one of those bundle area selling at RM6 and an only piece. I didn't thought much. Grabbed it and paid. Did I mention I really really ADORE this skirt....

So I was all set for this. My first refashion and fat quarter project. All I needed was the denim skirt, 3/4 of a fat quarter, 1 meter of cotton lace and 1.5 meter of cross grain ribbon.

Yummy! It looks like strawberry ice-cream

It looks like a peasant skirt. I love it!
Sweet like candy...:P
